MSB Rehabilitation Project Update for Aug. 6
Work on air handlers in the northeast quadrant of the Medical Sciences Building during the evening hours beginning Monday, Aug. 13, and continuing nightly through Thursday, Aug. 16, will affect temperature control in all spaces of the quadrant and pressurization of the quadrants labs. (The northeast quadrant of the MSB is the area adjacent to Albert Sabin Way and the Cardiovascular Research Center.)
The air handlers will be shut down at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 13, and brought back into service at 6:45 the following morning. This process will be repeated the next three nights, with the final night of work set for Thursday, Aug. 16.
While this work is being done, there will be no temperature control in all spaces of the northeast quadrant from Level E through Level 6. Labs can be expected to become 4 to 5 degrees warmer during this time.
Office spaceslocated on the MSBs perimetercould see temperature increases of up to 10 degrees.
Additionally, air pressure in the northeast quadrants labs will be more negative than normal (tending to go more from the corridor to the room). This will not affect fume hood operations, and work can continue in all laboratories.
