Graduate Student Research Forum Nov. 9

The 33rd Annual College of Medicine Graduate Student Research Forum is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 9.

The forum's purpose is to promote scientific interactions among graduate students, faculty and other research trainees as well as to inform the wider scientific community about current student research activities at the College of Medicine. The poster presentations are scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon in the CARE/Crawley Atrium.

Keynote speaker is Scott Johnson, president, CEO and founder of the Myelin Repair Foundation. Johnson’s seminar, "Where are the Cures: Accelerating New Treatments for Multiple Sclerosis & All Diseases,” will be held at 1 p.m. in Kresge Auditorium. A reception and awards ceremony will take place immediately following.

At least two weather patterns increase headaches, UC study suggests

University of Cincinnati physicians and collaborators identified two specific weather patterns that increase headache and migraine risk and found the preventive medication fremanezumab (Ajovy) can reduce weather‑associated headaches. The findings will be presented at the American Headache Society Annual Scientific Meeting in Orlando.
