The LAPS (Laps Against Pain Syndromes) run/walk to raise awareness and funding for the Fibromyalgia & Chronic Pain Research Fund takes place from 8 to 11 a.m., Saturday, May 11, at the UC outdoor track at Gettler Stadium. The entry fee is $20 per person. The event is sponsored by UC Health and the University of Cincinnati Neuroscience Institute. RSVPs are due May 8 and can be sent online to regonline.com/laps2013. University of Cincinnati physicians and collaborators identified two specific weather patterns that increase headache and migraine risk and found the preventive medication fremanezumab (Ajovy) can reduce weather‑associated headaches. The findings will be presented at the American Headache Society Annual Scientific Meeting in Orlando.
