Thomas Boat, MD, UC vice president for health affairs and Christian R. Holmes Professor and Dean of the College of Medicine, was honored Friday by Central Clinic during its 90th anniversary celebration.

Boat was named an "Ambassador of Mental Health,” and was recognized not only for his support of Central Clinic but also for his support of Every Child Succeeds, an organization devoted to supporting families to ensure an optimal start for their children.

Central Clinic, the outpatient training arm for UC’s psychiatry and behavioral neuroscience department, also honored two others with "Ambassador of Mental Health Awards.”

They were Barbara Walling Boat, PhD, associate professor of psychiatry and behavioral neuroscience and executive director of the Childhood Trust at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, and the Rev. Damon Lynch Jr., civil rights leader and pastor of New Jerusalem Baptist Church.
