Walk Supports Cincinnati Children's Lead Clinic

Join the Center for Environmental Genetics’ (CEG) Community Outreach and Engagement Core (COEC) in supporting the Cincinnati Children’s Environmental Health and Lead Clinic at Cincinnati Walks for Kids Saturday, Sept. 28, at the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden.

Cincinnati Walks for Kids is a scenic half-mile stroll through the zoo to celebrate and raise money for Cincinnati Children's. Check-in starts at 3 p.m.; the walk starts at 4:30.

Participating in the event will support funds for activities and outreach led by the clinic and its director, CEG COEC Physician Project Leader Nicholas Newman, DO, an assistant professor in the UC Department of Pediatrics. Outreach will include family transportation to and from the clinic, bridge housing that would provide families with a safe place to stay while lead-safe housing is made available, the use of vitamin vouchers and creation of lead safety handouts translated into several languages.
