Level 7 Barrier Walls Will Be Removed for Duct Work

Beginning Monday night, Dec. 16, the contractor for the Medical Sciences Building (MSB) Rehabilitation Project will begin removing barrier walls on Level 7 in preparation for ceiling duct work. This work will be performed on weeknights between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m.

The barrier walls will be removed in two corridors that intersect with the main hallway: the hallway adjacent to Classroom 7051, and the hallway running from Suite 7002 to the CARE/Crawley Building bridge. This is necessary to remove old duct work that is above the ceilings and allow new work to go back in.

A temporary plastic ceiling will be put back to maintain the construction barrier for negative air containment, creating inward airflow and confining odors and particles to the work area. The walls will stay down for the remainder of the construction (through the end of 2014).

In addition, the ceiling will be removed in the main passenger elevator area of Level 7, also for duct work, and a plastic barrier will be installed with negative air containment
