Annual Mood Disorder Symposium April 5

The fourth annual

Mood Disorders Symposium

, presented by the

UC Mood Disorders Center

, is scheduled for Saturday, April 5, at the Conference Center at Drake, 151 W. Galbraith Road. The theme is, "Novel Treatment Approaches for Depression.”

Registration is at 7 a.m., with faculty presentations beginning at 8 following a welcome and overview by Stephen Strakowski, MD, the Dr. Stanley and Mickey Kaplan Professor and Chair of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience.

In addition to novel treatment options, topics will include new non-pharmacologic strategies for treating depression and the impact of neurodevelopmental changes on depression treatment. Course co-directors are Cal Adler, MD, Stephen Benoit, PhD, and Melissa DelBello, MD.

Continuing education credit is available. Fees are $75 in advance for physicians ($90 at the door); $75 for nurses, $50 for mental health professionals, $25 for residents and students (UC psychiatry residents free).
