Ruth Rosevear Lecture on Infant Body Composition March 28
The UC Department of Nutritional Sciences will host the annual Ruth Rosevear Lecture Series Friday, March 28, in the College of Allied Health Sciences' French East Room 135.
Ellen Demerath, PhD, associate professor of public health at the University of Minnesota Division of Epidemiology and Community Health, will present, "Infant Body Composition: Developmental Plasticity and Assessment.
This is the seventh year for the seminar, supported by the Ruth E. Rosevear Endowment Chair for Maternal and Infant Nutrition.
Rosevear, who studied home economics at UC from 1956-1960, passed away in September 2013. A licensed dietitian with the Ohio Board of Dietetics, she was a pioneer in natural foods and nutrition education, as well as a prolific researcher, with more than 50 published articles on nutrition.
In 2004, Rosevear endowed an academic chair for Dietary Studies in Maternal and Child Nutrition at UC, now held by Debra Krummel, PhD.
