OMFS Residents Win 'SimWars'
UCs Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Resident team took the championship honors at the "SimWar competition during the Ambulatory Anesthesia for Oral Maxillofacial Surgeons Symposium, held March 1, in Indianapolis.
In "SimWars, office-based anesthesia related emergencies were simulated using a hi-fidelity mannequin simulator, and teams of residents from five OMS residency programs across the Midwest were judged against each other on diagnostic skills, procedural skills and overall management of the emergency.
The symposium was hosted by the Indiana Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the Indiana University Department Of Oral And Maxillofacial Surgery.
