2014 Sunflower Revolution Sept. 6-7

The Sunflower Revolution weekend, featuring the Parkinson’s Disease Symposium and Expo and the Sunflower Revolution Fitness Festival, will be held Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 6-7.

The symposium and expo, a free educational event for patients, caregivers and family members, will run from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, at the Oasis Conference Center near Loveland. 

The fitness festival is set for Sunday, Sept. 7, based at Sawyer Point on the Ohio River, downtown Cincinnati, and offering several events including bicycle rides ranging from 25 to 100 kilometers, a 5-kilometer run and walk and the Sunflower Sprouts Kids’ Fun Run. Registration begins at 6 a.m., with events running from 7 to 10:30 a.m. An awards ceremony will follow until 1:30 p.m.

Fitness events benefit the James J. and Joan A. Gardner Family Center for Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders at the UC Neuroscience Institute, one of four institutes of the UC College of Medicine and UC Health.

At least two weather patterns increase headaches, UC study suggests
