2015 Nightingale Nominations Due Feb. 28

The UC College of Nursing is now accepting nominations for the 23nd annual Florence Nightingale Awards for Excellence in Nursing.

Awards will recognize registered nurses who demonstrate excellence in providing direct patient care. Nominations are accepted from patients, family and friends of patients, colleagues, physicians and other health care workers. Nurses previously nominated may be re-nominated for this award.

Nominations are due Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015. Final selection of award recipients will be made by a committee of the UC College of Nursing Board of Advisors.

At least two weather patterns increase headaches, UC study suggests

University of Cincinnati physicians and collaborators identified two specific weather patterns that increase headache and migraine risk and found the preventive medication fremanezumab (Ajovy) can reduce weather‑associated headaches. The findings will be presented at the American Headache Society Annual Scientific Meeting in Orlando.
