GI Symposium March 7; First 50 Registrants Free

The UC Cancer Institute’s Gastrointestinal Cancer Center is holding a Gastrointestinal Oncology Symposium from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 7, at Great Wolf Lodge, Mason. Sessions will include educational presentations on esophageal, stomach, hepatobiliary, pancreatic, small bowel, colorectal and anal cancer.

Joseph Herman, MD, from Johns Hopkins University; Bert Howard O’Neil, MD, from the Indiana University School of Medicine; and Philip Philips, MD, PhD, from Karmanos Cancer Center, will be guest speakers. The first 50 registrants are free; the cost after that is $75 for physicians (free for residents and fellows). Registration is required. At least two weather patterns increase headaches, UC study suggests

University of Cincinnati physicians and collaborators identified two specific weather patterns that increase headache and migraine risk and found the preventive medication fremanezumab (Ajovy) can reduce weather‑associated headaches. The findings will be presented at the American Headache Society Annual Scientific Meeting in Orlando.
