All It Takes Is A Little Heart

It’s doesn’t matter if you are Cincy’s top marathon runner or simply a walker with a heart, says UC’s Laura Hildreth.

There’s still time to support the 2015 Heart Mini set for Sunday, March 15, in downtown Cincinnati. The event is paired with a Health and Fitness Expo at the Duke Energy Convention Center, which occurs the day before on Saturday, March 14.

Hildreth is team captain of UC Heart, a hearty bunch of more than 40 employees at the University of Cincinnati and UC Health, who will enter the Heart Mini. So far, the group has raised more than $2,700 of its goal of $5,000 through pledges from friends, family and other supporters.

"It’s open to anyone who is interested in supporting heart health,” says Hildreth, a program manager in the UC Heart, Lung and Vascular Institute. "Everyone is invited to come and walk, run or simply raise funds to make a difference in our community.”

Events at the Heart Mini include the signature 15K Heart Mini, the Heart ½ Marathon (13.1 miles), 5K Heart Race, 3-mile and 5-mile Heart Walks, 2K Kids’ Run and 1K Steps for Stroke tailored for heart and stroke survivors.
