Concert With the Guess Who to Benefit Pancreatic Cancer Research

CINCINNATI—The Rock Out Cancer Concert featuring the Guess Who and opening act Midnight Special: The Classic Rock Experience and benefiting the University of Cincinnati (UC) Cancer Institute and GIVEHOPE Pancreatic Cancer Fund will be held at 6:30 p.m. June 20, 2015, at the Horseshoe Casino, 1000 Broadway, Cincinnati.

Gold Star Chili and BSI Engineering, Inc. will sponsor the event, and all proceeds will go toward cancer research—pancreatic and other—at the institute.

"According to the American Cancer Society, this year, almost 50,000 people will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and a little more than 40,000 will die from the devastating illness,” says William Barrett, MD, director of the UC Cancer Institute, chair of the Department of Radiation Oncology at the UC College of Medicine and medical director for UC Health’s Barrett Center. "This cancer has been difficult to treat because of its insidious nature and propensity for spread. Research is desperately needed to improve the prognosis through earlier detection, more effective treatments and perhaps prevention of the disease in the first place.”

• Tickets are $80 for general admission and include dinner by the bite featuring restaurants like Gold Star Chili, Rock Bottom Brewery, Via Vite, Palomino, Taft's Ale House and Horseshoe Casino and desserts by Patricia’s Wedding Cakes.
• VIP tickets are $160 and include the above plus a meet-and-greet with the band before the concert, VIP seating area, VIP-only cash bar area with bar service from seats, goodie bags and the opportunity to nominate a cancer patient, survivor or someone who lost their battle with cancer to be highlighted during the event.
