Cross-Disciplinary Team Research Workshops Sept. 4
Two cross-disciplinary team research workshops will take place from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4, at the Kingsgate Marriott Conference Center. They include:
- Crossing Boundaries: Exploring Disciplinary Frameworks for Collaborative Health Research: This workshop will answer questions about result satisfaction in previous cross-disciplinary research experiences, reconciling different epistemic boundaries and methods in an integrative research study design and finding common ground among researchers from different backgrounds. This initial conversation will also expose some of the barriers to cross-disciplinary team research from different perspectives.
- Practical Matters in Cross-Disciplinary Research in Health and Medicine: In this workshop, a cross-disciplinary panel will discuss research projects in health and medicine and will answer questions relating to discovering collaborators, working with community partners or medical practices, ethical concerns and choosing methods on which all members of the team can agree.
