Renovations Underway at Eden Garage
As part of a new parking access system being instituted at UC, Eden Garage is undergoing renovations that will include new gate equipment and pay stations as part of a "pay-on-foot system to facilitate cash parking. During the renovations, an attendant is checking parking passes or accepting cash payment. Work is scheduled to continue through Sept. 18, with intermittent lane closures.
Several garages on the west campus, including Corry Garage, Varsity Village Garage and Campus Green, have already been transitioned to the new system. On the medical campus, Kingsgate Garage is scheduled for renovation Oct. 12-30.
Later this year, new Bearcat IDs containing a chip for garage access will become the primary access to parking. Further enhancements will also be unveiled, including a UC Fast Pass hang tag offered for purchase to faculty, staff and students that will be scanned and read while entering and exiting the garage. With the Fast Pass, a parking gate will rise without the need for the driver to reach out and swipe a permit.

Additionally UC Parking Services notes that administrators who provide No. 2 vouchers to campus visitors will need to request vouchers for the transitioned garages through the Special Parking form. It is important to specify in the request that the department is requesting vouchers for the transitioned garages.
"With the large number of departments on the medical campus, it is important to get your request in as soon as possible to try and ensure that you have passes in hand when the garage comes online," says Kendra Violet, director, Parking Services.
