Demolition of Kettering North Wing Underway
Demolition of the North Wing of the Kettering Lab complex is underway, with completion scheduled for December 2015, weather permitting. The demolition contractor, O'Rourke Wrecking Company, is using a combination of hydraulic equipment and manual labor. Steps are being taken to mitigate dust in the area.
Constructed in 1930, Kettering North has been deemed infeasible to renovate. The site will be landscaped, and a new exterior masonry wall will be built where the North Wing had been connected to the complex.
