Wojciechowski Leads Ohio Society of Anesthesiologists

Paul Wojciechowski, MD, assistant professor of anesthesiology and associate residency program director, began his term as president of the Ohio Society of Anesthesiologists (OSA) at the organization’s 76th annual conference Sept. 26-27 in Columbus. Michael Hawryschuk, MD, assistant residency program director, was elected assistant secretary-treasurer.  

Invited lectures were given by a number of UC Anesthesia faculty including James Bruns, MD, James Fortman, MD, Suzanne Bennett, MD, Gretchen Schultz, MD, and Helen Pappas, MD. Erica Lin, MD, Raj Subramanyam, MD, and Diane Gordon, MD, from the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center Division of Anesthesia also were invited lecturers.

In addition to the lectures, Wojciechowski, Hawryschuk, J.P. Lawrence, MD, and Benu Makkad, MD, moderated educational sessions, and Bennett, Schultz, Fortman, Maggie Mechlin, MD, and Erin Grawe, MD, presented workshops.

Desirae Christian, MD, a second-year resident, was awarded the prize for "Best Case Report From a Resident.”

New combination treatment improves multiple myeloma outcomes
