Kiesler Receives Community Health Transformation Award

Joseph Kiesler, MD, associate professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine, is the recipient of the Community Health Transformation Award.  The honor recognizes an individual for excellence in leadership, collaboration and health promotion in the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky region.  Kiesler was honored for his untir¬ing efforts to improve the health of the community through his work with medical students, community organizations, and the homeless. He was presented the award on Nov. 5, at the Cincinnati Museum Center as part of the fall Community Engagement Speaker Series.

At least two weather patterns increase headaches, UC study suggests

University of Cincinnati physicians and collaborators identified two specific weather patterns that increase headache and migraine risk and found the preventive medication fremanezumab (Ajovy) can reduce weather‑associated headaches.
