Nominations Sought for 2015/2016 Entrepreneurial Achievement Awards
The Office of Entrepreneurial Affairs and Technology Commercialization is seeking nominations for the 2015/2016 Entrepreneurial Achievement Awards. There are two categories of awards being given to faculty for exceptional accomplishment in promoting and maximizing the human benefits and commercial potential of university intellectual property and/or research. Faculty members from all colleges are eligible to apply.
The two award categories are:
- Established Entrepreneur Award for faculty with a record of five or more years of successful entrepreneurial ventures; and
- Emerging Entrepreneur Award for faculty who have successfully launched a new venture during the past five years.
Both awards are based on new venture creation that is connected to UC research/or intellectual property or business development activities that support the expansion of markets, delivery mechanisms, and revenue streams for existing or new academic programs.
Selection criteria for both of these awards can be found in the expanded announcement information at uc.edu/facultyawards.
Application deadline is Jan. 8, 2016. Self-nominations, as well as nominations by deans, directors, department heads and colleagues are welcome. The electronic application form can be accessed directly at uc.edu/facultyawards/awards_nomination/entrepreneur.html.
Winners of the awards will be notified by early February 2016. Awards will be presented at the University-wide Faculty Awards Celebration in the Spring.
Questions regarding the awards should be directed to Dorothy H. Air, PhD, associate vice president for entrepreneurial affairs and technology commercialization at 558-7339 or dorothy.air@uc.edu.
