Deadline Approaching for Nightingale Nominations
The University of Cincinnati (UC) College of Nursing is still accepting nominations for the 24th Annual Florence Nightingale Awards for Excellence in Nursing. The nomination deadline is Sunday, Feb. 28.
Awards will recognize registered nurses who demonstrate excellence in providing direct patient care. Nominations are accepted from patients, family and friends of patients, colleagues, physicians and other health care workers. Nurses previously nominated may be re-nominated this year.
Final selection of award recipients will be made by a committee of the UC College of Nursing Board of Advisors. Selection is not based on the number of nominations received; however, all nominations for each nurse are considered.
Nominees must:
reside in the Greater Cincinnati area
be employed in the Greater Cincinnati area
be licensed as a registered nurse
demonstrate excellence in direct patient care
The 24th Annual Florence Nightingale Awards for Excellence in Nursing will be held on April 13, 2016, at the Hyatt Regency Cincinnati. Nightingale award winners receive $1,000, as well as a commemorative award.
Funds generated beyond expenses for this event will be used to support scholarships for undergraduate students of the UC College of Nursing.
The College of Nursing honors Tristate nursing during its annual Florence Nightingale Awards for Nursing, named for the founder of modern nursing.
