Warm Receives ACGME s Courage to Teach Award

Eric Warm, MD, Richard W. & Sue P. Vilter Professor of Medicine, and program director for the Internal Medicine residency program, has received the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education's (ACGME) Parker J. Palmer Courage to Teach Award.

The honor was presented Friday, Feb. 26, 2016, at the ACGME's annual educational conference in National Harbor, Maryland to Warm and nine other educators from the across the nation. It is given to program directors who have fostered innovation and improvement in their residency programs and served as exemplary role models for residents.

"This year's awardees highlight the increasingly high quality work and innovation underway in the graduate medical education community," said Thomas J. Nasca, MD, chief executive officer, ACGME. "The many successes achieved by the recipients showcase the important contributions of every member of the community, including institutions, residents, designated institutional officers, program directors, and coordinators."

Warm, a 1989 Phi Beta Kappa graduate of UC and 1993 Alpha Omega Alpha Graduate of the College of Medicine, is known for his passion for teaching.  

UC presented Warm with the 2013 Mrs. A.B. "Dolly" Cohen Award for Excellence in Teaching. In 2010, the Society of General Internal Medicine honored Warm with the Clinical Practice Innovation Award because of his push to establish innovative clinical practices that improve patient care.

Warm a "Top Doctor" in Cincinnati Magazine in 2012-2016was also recently honored with a photo display in the magazine as part of its 2016 "Top Doctor" edition.

Information Security Roadshow spreads awareness
