For 18th year, PRaISE Conference Showcases Student Research
The 18th annual Presentation of Research and Innovative/Scholarly Endeavors (PRaISE) Conference will be held by the University of Cincinnati (UC) College of Allied Health Sciences (CAHS) on Friday, April 22, 2016 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Fifth Third Arena.
Undergraduate and graduate students from each discipline of CAHS work hard throughout the year to make an impact in their field by conducting research projects in their classes. The students create research posters for PRaISE, and they share their research with students, faculty, staff and friends of the college. PRaISE allows everyone in CAHS to come to together to celebrate this research in an interdisciplinary way.
The conference keynote speaker will be Patrick Limbach, PhD, UC vice president for research. His presentation is titled "The Power of Team-Based Research: Personal Experiences of Students and Faculty. Limbach, a professor of Chemistry and Ohio Eminent Scholar at UC, is a bioanalytical chemist with research interests in mass spectrometry, modified ribonucleic acids, ribonucleoprotein complexes and protein translation.
PRaISE has become a tradition in CAHS, held every year since the college was formed in 1998. It has grown from the hallways of French East Hall to Fifth Third Arena. PraISE is held at the end of each spring semester in conjunction with the Undergraduate Research Conference.
