UC Scholars Meeting Hosted by College of Nursing

The University of Cincinnati (UC) College of Nursing will host the UC Scholars meeting at Procter Hall on Feb. 2, 2017. The meeting will showcase the comprehensive approach the College of Nursing has taken toward educational programming, and the college’s efforts toward increasing the diversity of its enrollment.

One of the featured speakers will be Laura Mitchell, the deputy superintendent of  Cincinnati Public Schools. She will make remarks about the school district and its partnership with UC, and also talk about the UC Scholars Academy initiative.

The UC Scholars Academy was founded in January 2015, with the mission of empowering high school students who have potential and drive but lack opportunity and access to a college education. The initiative currently partners with Hughes STEM High School to recruit students to UC. The partnership includes all 13 UC colleges, including UC Blue Ash, and liaisons from those colleges will be on hand for the monthly meeting at Procter Hall.

The meeting will be held from 3:30-5:30 p.m. in room 274 at Procter Hall.
