Family and Community Medicine Honors Students, Faculty and Preceptors
The Department of Family and Community Medicine honored fourth-year medical students who matched in a family medicine residency and recognized faculty and preceptors at the annual Division of Medical Student Education Awards Dinner Wednesday, May 9, at the Kingsgate Marriott.
The following awards were distributed:
The Hunnicutt Award, for students who embody the ideals of community engagement in family medicine, displaying altruism, service, and leadership in community settings:
- Sara Stigler Maples
- Cameron Ingram
The Stagaman Award, given in the name of family medicine physician Harry Stagaman, MD, and honoring students who embody empathy, patient-centered care, high academic performance, teamwork, leadership and education:
- Libby Peters
- Christian Williams
The Outstanding Faculty of the Year Award:
- Rick Ricer, MD, professor emeritus
Community Preceptor of the Year Award:
- Philip Hartman, MD, UC College of Medicine Class of 2011 and physician with St. Elizabeth Physicians in Florence, Kentucky.
Outstanding Faculty Preceptor of Year Award:
- Manoj Singh, MD, associate professor
