UC cyber security expert Richard Harknett says government needs to stay ahead of cyber attacks
In an interview with WCPO, cyber security expert Richard Harknett, who heads UC’s Department of Political Science, speaks to concerns surrounding digital influencers in the 2020 election year.
“What we see behind the scenes are actors making things viral,” on the internet that have the potential to influence voters, says Harknett, co-director of the Ohio Cyber Range Institute (OCRI).
The institute, with network systems housed at UC on behalf of the state of Ohio, is a statewide tool that advances an integrated approach to education, economic and workforce development in cyber-related fields throughout the state.
