Cincinnati Universities Stand United For Tsunami Relief

Three Cincinnati universities have collaborated to raise more than $81,000 for tsunami relief efforts. The month-long effort involved students, faculty and staff from Northern Kentucky University, the University of Cincinnati and Xavier University.

University of Cincinnati alum Tom Nies, founder of Cincom Systems, Inc., antes up $10,000 for the first place "Cincom Spirit of Enterprise Champion Award" in UC's inaugural "UC Spirit of Enterprise MBA Business Plan" Competition Feb. 24 and 25. What will it take to win? The only certainty is that the non-winning teams will have to take a taxi -- even before the competition is over!

Statue Sets Questions in Motion at Design College

Student Alan Marrero went out on a ledge in seeking an A in art.  Last Sunday, he positioned a startlingly  life-like sculpture of himself on an outcropping 15 feet from the College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning floor.  Double-takes along with scoldings and incredulous questions directed at the statue have followed ever since.

Vikings and Firebirds and Bears! Oh My!!

In the Stock Market Game, students and adults invested $100,000 over a 10-week period.  The game, which is administered in Cincinnati by UC s Economics Center for Education & Research, is open to students in grades 4 to 12. The results are in and the winning students have returned from New York City. Some adults played, as well, but not any better!
