UC celebrated National Engineers' Week with 600 high-school students from around Ohio and Kentucky on Feb. 24 in the Tests of Engineering Aptitude, Mathematics and Science (TEAMS) competition on the University of Cincinnati Uptown campus. The competition at UC is the largest TEAMS competition in the nation and is one of seven taking place in Ohio this spring.

In recognition for its commitment to nanotechnology, UC was recently ranked #2 in the United States for nanotechnology education by Small Times magazine. And in July, Nanoengineering of Structural, Functional and Smart Materials was published by CRC Press. The volume, which was co-edited by UC s Mark Schulz, contains 24 chapters, four of which are co-authored by UC faculty.

The third annual Bearcat BEST Robotics Competition with Kick-off Day on Saturday, Sept. 10, from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in the Great Hall at UC s Tangeman University Center offers junior and senior high school students the opportunity to compete for awards. Registration deadline is Sept. 2.
