Financial Aid

Reapplying for Aid

You must fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each year. You should complete your application as soon after October 1 each year as possible. Because some aid programs are awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis, an early application by December 1 receives priority consideration for limited funding sources.

Students who had aid last year can use their U.S. Department of Education FSA ID username and password to access a pre-populated FAFSA with many items that would not change pulled from the past FAFSA. Only items that would change (class level, income information, etc.) need to be completed for the new year along with appropriate signatures using student (and parent, when required) FSA IDs.

When completing the FAFSA, students (and parents) are encouraged to utliize the IRS Data Retrieval to complete the income section(s). Using the retrieval process ensures your information is accurate, lessens the time to complete the FAFSA, and can speed any required verification process.

Also, check with any agencies or organizations that offer you scholarships. Some scholarships have automatic renewal and others require an annual application.
