Scholarship Service Reporting
Your scholarship renewal is based on annual evaluation of your GPA at a 3.2 and reporting of your community service hours. We want to make that reporting easy for you.
Service hours are to be completed during the academic year. Your service must have occurred after the first day of fall term and completed and submitted by the final day of spring semester.
The final day for completing or submitting hours for scholarship renewal is the last day of finals each spring semester. Students who are submitting hours for summer scholarship usage also need to submit the hours by this deadline in order to be renewed in June for the upcoming academic year.

Online Volunteer Database
An online database through the UC Center for Community Engagement is available for your use. You can access it at volunteer.uc.edu for a growing list of service opportunities.
Scholars will use their UC log on credentials to register and gain access to the site. For help using volunteer.uc.edu and entering your service hours, you can contact the Center for Community Engagement (community.engagement@uc.edu; 513-556-1559; 2639 Clifton Avenue).
The online volunteer system will allow you to review service options and register your participation.
Following the event, you can submit your hours as completed.
Reporting Completed Service Hours
Scholars can report completed service hours for activities signed up for within the volunteer.uc.edu database as well as those hours you find on your own. Using this one database to submit your hours allows you to easily track the total hours you have submitted for the year.
Instructions on how to report online:
- Navigate to volunteer.uc.edu.
- Log in as a volunteer (if you don’t already have an account, you will be prompted to make one).
- Click “add hours” in the navigation bar at the top of the site.
- Answer the question “Are these hours in reference to a need you responded to on this site?”
- If yes, select the need from the drop-down menu and answer the prompted questions.
- If no, you will need to provide us with the name of the organization with whom you volunteered, the name of your contact there, and the email address where we can reach them to verify your hours. You will then answer the prompted questions.
- If yes, select the need from the drop-down menu and answer the prompted questions.
Hours will be reviewed generally on a biweekly basis and marked as completed as they are reviewed.
Service Hour Review
While there is no requirement to submit hours each term, scholars are encouraged to submit their hours as they complete them in order to avoid problems at the end of the year. Again, the online submission gives you a review of your hours submitted and approved.
In cases when hours are not acceptable, scholars will be notified via email when the online service form is submitted. Review of hours generally occurs within 2 weeks of submission. Students with questions on the appropriateness of service for scholarship renewal should always talk with the Cincinnatus office before completing the hours.
