All-campus blood drive at UC this week
Donate to Hoxworth Blood Center at the University of Cincinnati this week and receive a free t-shirt
Hoxworth Blood Center is asking students, faculty, staff and fans of the University of Cincinnati to roll up a sleeve at the UC All-Campus blood drive before the busy holiday season.
The University of Cincinnati all-campus blood drive is scheduled through Friday, Nov. 16. Each donor will receive a free long-sleeved “blood drop” t-shirt.
UPDATE: A second drive has been added for Monday, Nov. 19 on McMicken Commons from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
“As the holiday season approaches, blood banks across the nation are preparing for shortages of blood and platelet products,” said Alecia Lipton, Hoxworth spokesperson. “We are calling on the UC community to help us bolster our blood supply and support local patients in the 31 area hospitals that we serve.”
The drive will take place in Tangeman University Center’s Great Hall from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. through Friday. Additionally, blood drives will be taking place at UC Blue Ash, UC Clermont, and the UC medical campus throughout the week.
Hoxworth needs to collect at least 350 whole blood donations and 40 platelet donations every day to fulfill the needs of local hospitals.
Appointments are highly encouraged due to the popularity of this event, but walk-ins are welcome. Schedule an appointment by calling (513) 451-0910 or visit the Hoxworth website.
