Five years of French culture at UC Blue Ash

The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College is celebrating its fifth and final year of the Tournées French Film Festival. This event features six new and different French films over six weeks this fall. Students and community members are welcome to attend, free of charge, to experience French language (with English subtitles), culture and contemporary films.
Each new film will be shown on Thursday evenings from 7-9 p.m. beginning Oct. 3 in the auditorium at Muntz Hall, located on the UC Blue Ash campus. Although the films will have subtitles so the audience can easily follow along, some of the scenes may not be suitable for all ages; viewer discretion is advised.
All of the films shown are new to the festival every year. Jody Ballah, a French professor at the UC Blue Ash campus, has helped to make this possible through a grant she secured through the French American Cultural Exchange (FACE), which provides the funding to pay for the public viewing rights of each film that will be shown.
“I think the festival is a great way to unite the Greater Cincinnati community with the college community and also students from different disciplines who can bring their interests to the film screenings,” said Ballah.
She and a guest speaker facilitate a discussion after each film so that viewers can share their thoughts and observations with others in the auditorium. There will be a different guest speaker at each showing who will share their own expertise with the audience.
Visit the French Film Festival's webpage to see more about each of the featured films.
