James Corden and John Krasinski feature CCM alums in 'Dear Evan Hansen' and 'Hamilton'
Broadway casts reunited online for Corden's "The Late Late Show" and Krasinski's "Some Good News"
Although they temporarily can't give performances in-person, cast members from Dear Evan Hansen and Hamilton reunited to present home broadcasts on "The Late Late Show with James Corden" and John Krasinski's "Some Good News."
Corden welcomed guests like Billie Eilish, John Legend, Will Ferrell and more for his "Homefest: A Late Late Show Special" on March 30. The broadcast ended with an emotional performance of "You Will Be Found" from Dear Evan Hansen. Tony winner Ben Platt, who originally portrayed Evan Hansen on Broadway, was joined by cast members from the Broadway and national touring companies of the musical, including CCM Musical Theatre alumna Ciara Alyse Harris (BFA, '18). Krasinski highlights uplifting stories from around the world in "Some Good News." The episode on April 5 featured a special surpise for a 9-year-old girl who had to miss Hamilton because of show cancellations due to the global health crisis. Krasinski invited the girl on to his show via a Zoom video call and they were joined by Lin-Manuel Miranda and Hamilton cast members, including CCM Musical Theatre alumnus Andrew Chappelle (BFA, '09). They serenaded the young fan with the opening number of the hit musical, "Alexander Hamilton." Read more about the broadcast on Playbill.
