Media Production students from the UC College-Conservatory of Music won 8 Student Production Awards, commonly referred to as "Student Emmys," from the Ohio Valley Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS). Including the winning projects, CCM Media Production received 24 award nominations that span 13 categories from non-fiction and fiction to arts/entertainment and sports.

UC College-Conservatory of Music's BFA Musical Theatre students received advice and words of wisdom from one of the most influential composer and lyricists in America in a master class on Thursday, Sept. 10. From Broadway's Wicked, Godspell and Pippin to Disney's Pocahontas and The Hunchback of Notre Dame (and many, many more), Schwartz's work has moved generations of music and theatre lovers. Dozens of CCM students got to learn from his mentorship up close in a 2-hour workshop and Q&A in Cohen Family Studio Theater.

Spencer Lackey is taking his scary stories from social media to feature films with Lust, a movie he wrote and will direct. A few months ago, The Hollywood Reporter informally surveyed agents, managers and producers about who could be the next Curry Barker (Obsession) or Kane Parsons (Backrooms). UC College-Conservatory of Music alumnus Spencer Lackey (BFA Acting, '17) was one of the names that kept coming up as a potential "next big thing in the horror space."

The Cincinnati May Festival has announced the appointment of Dami Choi, a first-year DMA student in CCM’s renowned choral conducting program, as its Conducting Fellow for the 2026-27 season. Choi, who will serve as the assistant conductor for the May Festival Chorus this year, previously earned her Master of Music degree from the University of British Columbia.
