President Pinto to hold Town Hall with faculty on Oct. 29

President Neville Pinto will hold a Town Hall with Faculty as a part of the Fall 2020 All-University Faculty Meeting via WebEx on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. President Pinto plans to give a 15-minute presentation and then participate in a 30-minute question-and-answer session. University faculty are encouraged to submit questions in advance to Faculty Chair Greg Loving at lovinggd@ucmail.uc.edu. Questions in the WebEx question-and-answer session will also be welcome as time permits.

Trial results support weekly buprenorphine treatment of opioid use disorder during pregnancy

Supported by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), researchers led by the University of Cincinnati's John Winhusen published clinical trial results in JAMA Internal Medicine that found administering weekly injectable extended-release buprenorphine for treatment of opioid use disorder during pregnancy led to higher rates of abstinence from illicit opioids than buprenorphine given daily under the tongue, one of the standard methods of treatment.
