Be a #LifesavingBearcat, roll up your sleeve and donate at UC all-campus blood drive
Hoxworth Blood Center, University of Cincinnati, is calling on the Bearcat community to help support the local blood supply by rolling up a sleeve and donating blood at the all-campus blood drive.
Students, faculty, staff and fans of UC who donate between Tuesday, April 12 and Friday, April 16 will receive a limited-edition Cincinnati fanny pack.
Hoxworth donor buses will parked in front of TUC each day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Additional blood drives will be held at UC Clermont on Wednesday, April 13 and the UC Medical Campus on Friday, April 15.
“The UC blood drives have become one of our most successful blood drives that we hold,” said Jackie Marschall, spokesperson for Hoxworth. “It’s so exciting to see such a diverse group of students, faculty, staff and others come together for a cause that affects individuals right here in our Cincinnati community.”
Marschall added that as the only provider of blood products in the Tri-State, Hoxworth needs to collect 400 units of blood and 50 units of platelets a day to fulfill the needs of patients in local hospitals.
Appointments are encouraged but walk-ins are welcome. Donors must bring an ID with birthdate.
To schedule an appointment at any of the University of Cincinnati drives, visit hoxworth.org/uc or call (513) 451-0910.
