UC board chair, president share statement on Steve Boymel and reappointment of Shelly Gillis
Steve Boymel has been appointed to the University of Cincinnati Board of Trustees by Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine, for a term beginning Jan. 1, 2023, and ending Jan. 1, 2031.
“I’m thrilled to welcome Steve to this position of leadership at the University of Cincinnati,” said Phil Collins, chair of the UC Board of Trustees. “He has outstanding experience as president of The Health Care Management Group, and he has proven his dedication to our city by serving such charitable foundations as Cincinnati’s Nancy & David Wolf Holocaust & Humanity Center.”
“Steve Boymel is an extremely loyal supporter of the University of Cincinnati,” said UC President Neville G. Pinto. “He and his family have been among our biggest Bearcats fans for decades. I look forward to working closely with Steve in this new and exciting capacity.”
Trustee Gillis reappointed
In addition, Gov. DeWine reappointed current UC Board of Trustees member Michelle “Shelly” Gillis to a full term, which began Jan. 2, 2023, and ends Jan. 1, 2032. Gillis, who serves as senior vice president and chief administrative officer of American Financial Group, was appointed to the UC board in 2021 to complete an unexpired term.
“Trustee Gillis has already proven to be a wonderful addition and a dedicated leader,” said Collins. “Her love for UC is abundant, and I look forward to continuing to serve with her.”
