CCM Dance Series presents "Little Mermaid" April 12-14

Set to music by David Arkenstone; the ballet fairy tale is fun for the whole family

UC College-Conservatory Music presents Little Mermaid on April 12-14, 2024, in Corbett Auditorium. Directed by Shauna Steele, the performance features choreography by guest artists Jennifer Thiemet and Cathy Petraits, restaging and additional choreography by CCM Dance faculty and music by GRAMMY-nominated composer David Arkenstone; tickets on sale now through the CCM Box Office

Little Mermaid (or The Little Sea Maid) is a timeless tale, inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s literary fairy tale. A story of hope, magic and dreams. It embodies bravery and conviction as we travel with a young mermaid as she strikes out fearlessly to discover her own story and bring her dreams to life. Set to music by David Arkenstone, the ballet features original projections by CCM Lighting Design and Technology, and performances by CCM Dance majors with students from CCM Prep’s dance and theatre arts programs.

Families are invited to take advantage of $10 child tickets (ages 12 and under) to see this aquatic fairy tale come to life on stage. Audiences are encouraged to bring their costumes and dress like a favorite story book character for the matinee performance on Saturday, April 13 — with a special "meet the merfolk" opportunity after the show! Meet the merfolk cast members for a photo opportunity from 3:30-4 p.m. on Saturday, April 13 in the lobby after the performance.
