Show your love, be a lifesaver this February with Hoxworth Blood Center
This February, Hoxworth Blood Center, University of Cincinnati, is inviting the community to celebrate the month of love and local lifesavers by rolling up their sleeves and giving the gift of life. With a focus on love, generosity and saving lives close to home, Hoxworth is offering exciting rewards to thank their lifesaving donors for their selfless acts.
Every blood donor is a lifesaver
Throughout February, all blood and platelet donors at Hoxworth's seven neighborhood donor centers and select mobile blood drives will receive a soft, long-sleeve waffle shirt with “Lifesaver” and the number “56” — a reminder of the 56-day or eight-week waiting period between whole blood donations. This shirt isn’t just comfortable — it’s a Hoxworth habit that donors can be lifesavers again and again throughout the year.
Celebrate Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays with extra love
Donate blood on any Sunday, Monday or Tuesday in February, and receive a BONUS $10 eGift card for a whole blood donation or a BONUS $20 eGift card for a double red cell or platelet donation as a thank-you gift. Use the bonus to treat someone to coffee, a sweet surprise or a thoughtful gift, knowing the donation is already making an impact. (Bonus days include Feb. 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, 16, 17, 18, 23, 24, 25)
Valentine’s Day is National Donor Day
Hoxworth is making Valentine’s Day extra special this year! Donors who give blood or platelets at any of their seven neighborhood donor centers on Friday, Feb. 14 will receive a "You're My Type" fleece blanket, while supplies last. This bonus gift also honors National Donor Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of blood, organ and tissue donation. Just last year, Hoxworth’s Transplant Immunology Division was part of 642 organ transplants.
Join the mission: Saving Lives Close to Home
Donating blood or platelets with Hoxworth Blood Center is a powerful way to give back to the community and support patients in need in Greater Cincinnati. A donation ensures a steady and reliable blood supply for local hospitals and patients counting on lifesaving transfusions.
Together, we can make a difference that lasts far beyond February. Appointments are strongly encouraged, though walk-ins are welcome. To schedule your donation, please visit https://hoxworth.org, download the Hoxworth app or call (513) 451-0910.
