CCM Wind Symphony goes to the movies with John Williams Celebration concert

The CCM Wind Symphony continues its concert season with "Summon the Heroes: A John Williams Celebration." Featuring music from beloved blockbusters like Star Wars and Indiana Jones, the concert is a chance for audiences to experience movie magic in the concert hall.
Rounding out the program is Gershwin’s showstopping Rhapsody in Blue, performed by CCM pianist Trinity Le. The performance takes place Wednesday March 12 at 7:30 p.m. in Corbett Auditorium. Tickets are on sale now through the CCM Box Office.
One of the most celebrated film composers of all time, John Williams’ scores are instantly recognizable. Composing music for both iconic blockbusters and award-winning dramas, his music has captivated the imaginations of movie-goers across generations.
Beginning his career in the 1950s, his compositions capture the spirit of each film: from the 1966 heist flick How to Steal a Million to the magical world of Harry Potter. Nominated for 54 Academy Awards, he won Best Original Score for Jaws, Star Wars, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial and Schindler’s List.
Much like Williams, George Gershwin was a composer whose appeal broke barriers between classical music and popular culture. Incorporating jazz idioms, his Rhapsody in Blue is one of the defining compositions of American 20th-century music. Featuring CCM student pianist Trinity Le, the CCM Wind Symphony’s rendition of the classic work is sure to bring down the house.

Directions and Parking
CCM is located on the campus of the University of Cincinnati. For detailed driving directions, visit ccm.uc.edu/directions.
Parking is available in UC's CCM Garage (located at the base of Corry Boulevard off Jefferson Avenue) and additional garages throughout the UC campus. Effective July 1, 2023, all University of Cincinnati Parking Services locations are cashless. Pay for parking securely with your credit/debit card. All major credit cards accepted.
CCM OnStage patrons can add pre-paid parking to their checkout carts when purchasing tickets. Pre-paid parking is date/performance specific. CCM Garage parking rates for a performance or special event is usually available for $10-15. Learn more about parking at UC's CCM Garage.
