Summer of giving with Hoxworth Blood Center

Hoxworth Blood Center, University of Cincinnati, is getting into the summer spirit with a focus on giving. Summer can be a tough season for the blood supply, and Hoxworth is relying on its donors to show support and donate blood. 

During the month of June, when you give blood at any of Hoxworth’s seven neighborhood donor centers and select mobile drives, you will receive an e-gift card and a coupon for a FREE Biggby coffee as a thank you for saving lives. 

Whole blood donors will get a $10 e-gift card, and each double red or platelet donor will receive a $20 e-gift card. These can be used at any of more than 100 national retailers, including Amazon, Chipotle and Kroger.

"Summer is a season of vacations, but the need for blood never takes a break,” says David Oh, MD, Hoxworth Blood Center co-director and chief medical officer. “Every donation can save up to three lives — and right now, that need is especially urgent. We invite all eligible donors to make a difference today. Your single act of generosity can be someone’s second chance.”
