New UC Blue Ash business officer is a familiar face on campus
Lacey McCarthy will bring her skills, expertise and more than 20 years of experience in budget and financing to her new role as business officer for the University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College.
McCarthy is well known at the college where she has been a valuable staff member since 2005. She is beginning to transition into the business officer position and will officially replace Diane White, the current UC Blue Ash business officer, when she retires in June.
The business officer works closely with the dean of the college to oversee all financial operations. This includes budget planning and forecasting, as well as establishing long-range financial objectives.
Lacey McCarthy has been a valuable member of the UC Blue Ash team for more than 20 years.
“I already rely on Lacey’s judgment and expertise of university processes to make important decisions for our college,” said UC Blue Ash Dean Robin Lightner, PhD. “I’m confident she will make a seamless transition into this leadership role and continue to help positively shape the future of the college.”
McCarthy earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business administration from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She started as a program coordinator at UC Blue Ash, was promoted to accountant and, following several more promotions, became senior business administrator — a position she has held since 2023.
McCarthy has also shown that she is a leader outside of the business office. She played an important role in establishing the UC Staff Senate and held multiple positions in the Senate.
She has served on several college-wide committees, and she has participated in various leadership programs, including the UC Rising Leaders. McCarthy is also a past recipient of the UC Blue Ash Distinguished Staff Award and University Staff Excellence Award.
