Nominations now open for UC Alumni Association's top awards

Each year, the UC Alumni Association recognizes and celebrates the many contributions and overall excellence of UC alumni in countless fields of endeavor, throughout the world.

The UC Alumni Association is currently accepting nominations for its top awards through July 15 — nominate a deserving Bearcat today! Next year’s slate of honorees will be recognized during Alumni Week at the UC Alumni Celebration on April 15, 2027. 

Awards include:

  • William Howard Taft Medal for Notable Achievement is the highest honor the UC Alumni Association bestows, and is dedicated to the memory of William Howard Taft, Law 1880, Hon 1925, twenty-seventh president of the United States and tenth chief justice. Taft Medalists have personified excellence in a broad range of professions, shared a passion for helping others, and proudly expressed appreciation for the role their alma mater played in their success.
  • Robert E. Dobbs Distinguished Service Award recognizes a dedicated alumnus who, through their deep commitment and voluntary service, elevate their alma mater and the UC community.
  • Marian A. Spencer Mosaic Award honors an alumnus who has demonstrated leadership while enhancing our shared community by cultivating collaboration, fostering belonging, championing meaningful causes, and promoting greater opportunity for all.
  • Jeffrey Hurwitz Young Alumni Outstanding Achievement Award is presented to a UC graduate on the basis of significant professional achievement in his or her field of endeavor, and continued service and involvement with the university and community.
  • Outstanding Alumni Award honorees represent 13 colleges, plus the unique training ground of UC Athletics. They are selected on the basis of their contributions and achievements as alumni.

$4 million gift from Jay and Jyoti Chaudhry supports UC first-gen students

Jagtar “Jay” Chaudhry, CEAS ’82, ’83, Bus ’86, and P. Jyoti Chaudhry, Bus ’87, have established the Chaudhry Family Scholarship Fund with a $4 million gift to the University of Cincinnati. It will support first-generation, Pell-eligible students in UC’s Gen-1 1MPACT House, a residential community.

Just in: UC tops 50,000 students
