Hoxworth and Reds launch July blood drive campaign
Hoxworth Blood Center, the University of Cincinnati and the Cincinnati Reds are helping local patients this summer through a unique donor thank-you gift and a specialty blood drive at Great American Ball Park.
For generations, Hoxworth Blood Center and the Cincinnati Reds have been proud hometown institutions dedicated to serving the Tristate community. This July, the two organizations are once again teaming up to make a difference both on and off the field. While the Reds bring fans together through the love of baseball, Hoxworth unites donors through the life-saving act of blood donation. All blood donors at the seven Neighborhood Donor Centers and select mobile drives will receive an exclusive Reds jersey throughout July, while supplies last. You can wear this jersey with pride — both for the Reds and for knowing you saved lives in the Cincinnati area this summer. Together, this partnership demonstrates the power of community, encouraging local residents to step up, give back and help save lives close to home.
Blood drive at GABP offers exclusive gifts
Fans can take their support for the Reds and their community to the next level by participating in the annual Cincinnati Reds Blood Drive. The event provides an opportunity for donors to help maintain the local blood supply while celebrating one of Cincinnati's most beloved traditions. Blood collected during the drive will directly support patients at more than 30 hospitals across the region, ensuring local families have access to life-saving transfusions when they need them most.
The Reds blood drive is Monday, July 20, from 12 p.m. - 6 p.m. at Great American Ball Park, 100 Main St., Cincinnati, OH 45202.
All donors will receive:
- a pair of Cincinnati Reds tickets
- a Cincinnati Reds jersey
- a Cincinnati Reds windbreaker
Parking information:
Complimentary parking will be provided by Hamilton County and ACE Parking at the Central Riverfront Garage. Validation stickers are required and will be available at the blood drive check-in.
1. Enter the garage at the Mehring Way entrance, located just before the corner of Mehring Way and Joe Nuxhall Way (Main Street). The garage entrance is located at 202 East Mehring Way, Cincinnati, Ohio 45202.
2. Proceed up the ramp to P1 level. Enter at the “Club Level Entrance” on your right, where there is a RED awning. Park in this area.
3. A Reds employee will greet you and direct you to your event.
4. Bring your parking ticket inside for validation.
Save local lives with Hoxworth this summer
Summer is one of the most challenging times of the year for blood collection as school breaks, vacations and busy schedules often lead to fewer donations. Yet the need for blood remains constant. Hoxworth must welcome more than 450 donors each day to meet the needs of local hospitals. Donors are encouraged to make blood donation part of their summer plans and help ensure life-saving blood products are available for patients throughout the Tristate. Every donation has the potential to save up to three lives, making a lasting impact right here in our community.
