CCM grad Kyle A. Lamb appointed to leadership role with Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra

The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) recently appointed CCM alumnus Kyle A. Lamb (BM Music Education and Percussion, 2017; AD Percussion, 2020) as the organization’s next Vice President of Education and Community Engagement, effective August 3, 2026.

As reported by The Violin Channel, Lamb will oversee a wide array of initiatives in his new role with the RPO including educational programming, the orKIDStra concert series, the Around the Town concert series, the Orchestral Program for Urban Students (OPUS) and the Care & Wellness initiative engagements. Lamb will also oversee the Rochester Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, represent the RPO in the ROCmusic Collaborative and serve as liaison with the Rochester Philharmonic League in support of its education programs. He will report to newly appointed RPO President and CEO Tonya McBride Robles.

Lamb completed his Bachelor of Music degree at CCM in 2017, double-majoring in Music Education and Percussion. He also earned his Artist Diploma in Percussion from CCM in 2020. Most recently, he served as the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra’s Learning Programs Manager. In this role, he partnered with the region’s largest arts funder to ensure that all 5th graders in Cincinnati Public Schools could attend a Young People’s Concert every year, designed an Open Rehearsals for Schools program inviting student ensembles to watch rehearsal and engage with conductors and musicians, and expanded digital education resources that have reached over 500,000 views.

"Music has the power to inspire curiosity, build relationships, and create meaningful experiences for people of all ages," Lamb said in the official announcement published by the RPO. "I look forward to working with RPO’s talented musicians, staff, and community partners to continue to expand opportunities for people to engage with orchestral music."
