Crosstown Contest To Benefit Community Schools

There's a new crosstown contest brewing between the University of Cincinnati and Xavier, and the winners will be the children in Cincinnati Public Schools. UC's Mortar Board, the honor society of college seniors, and Xavier's Mortar Board are competing over who will donate the most books for the Crosstown Book Drive. All donated books will be delivered to the libraries in Cincinnati Public Schools.

The UC community is invited to help UC's Mortar Board to victory, by donating gently used books written for readers from pre-kindergarten age to high school senior level. The UC Mortar Board has set up donation boxes in offices of each of UC's undergraduate colleges. The boxes will remain in the offices through the end of November.

The Mortar Board that donates the most books will be declared the winner of the Crosstown Book Drive. The winner will be announced at the Crosstown Shootout Dec. 7. Look for Crosstown Book Drive posters in the colleges to find the donation boxes.
