UC Clermont Cougars Play Inaugural Game in New Home

The men’s and women’s basketball teams will play their inaugural game in the revamped sprung structure named the Student Activities Center on Sunday, January 29. The recycled complex will provide a place for athletes to play on campus for the first time in three decades.  The Lady Cougars play at 1 p.m. and the men play at 3 p.m. against Wright State University – Lake.

All are welcome to the event. Commemorative T-shirts will be handed out to the first 100 people at each of the games. There will be free raffles including a mountain bike for attendees.

The Student Activities Center is a recycled 16,000 square-foot non-inflatable sprung structure that was decommissioned on UC’s Uptown campus where it had served as the food court while the Tangeman University Center was being renovated.

“This will be the first time our athletes will have a chance to play on their own campus.” said John Hurley, men’s basketball coach at Clermont College.  “It will be a boon for the entire campus.”
