UC Investing in Employee Health through a Pilot Campus Rec Reimbursement Program
Campus Recreation and Human Resources have developed a pilot reimbursement plan for employee memberships to begin in February. The UC Rec Rewards program is designed to encourage health improvements across the university.
In order to qualify, members will be required to check in and work out at either the Campus Recreation Center and/or the Fitness Center at CARE/Crawley at least eight (8) days a month to receive the reimbursement the following month. Initial and follow-up health assessments will also need to be completed.
How the program will operate:
- Members of Campus Recreation continue to make membership payments; non-members can sign up now and take advantage of the program
- Check-in and workout on at least 8 different days during the month
- Get reimbursed $26.66 the following month
- Repeat.
Here are the steps to get started and to maintain a place in the program:
- Check out program details on the Campus Recreation webpage
- Schedule an initial health assessment right away
- Current members complete the free initial health assessment during the month of December; new members complete the free initial health assessment during the month of January
- Get a follow-up health assessment at 6 months.
Sign up right away for the Rec Rewards program and get the rest of December free. Visit the Campus Recreation table at the UC Bookstores Open House this Friday between 3 and 6:30 p.m. to sign up for payroll deduction of the monthly membership fee and receive a special gift while supplies last.
