Box@UC Offers Free File Storage and Sharing
The University of Cincinnati is now offering cloud-based storage through Box to all students, faculty and staff. Box is designed to enable users to securely store, share, manage and access files online from any device.
Features include:
- 50GB of FREE data storage
- Access your files from any device with mobile apps
- Secure file storage in the cloud
- Allows secure file sharing within or outside of the UC network
- Allows synchronization and collaboration on projects using approved Google Apps and Box-developed apps
- Develop workspaces
- Edit documents in Microsoft Office with Box Edit
Important note for students, faculty and staff who currently use UCFileSpace: Box@UC will replace UCFileSpace for personal file storage. If you would like to begin moving your personal files from your UCFileSpace account to your new Box@UC account, detailed instructions regarding this process can be found on UCs Knowledge Base (KB) at kb.uc.edu. Please refer to the UCFileSpace to Box Migration Guide for Mac or Windows users.
Upgraded services to replace all other UCFileSpace features, including personal websites, group websites, blogs, Unix shell access and lecture capture, will also be implemented over the next several months.
Activate your new Box@UC account now at uc.edu/ucit/box, or via the icon located under Tools & Resources on Canopy.
