UC President Santa Ono Supports 8 Days of Greatness with May 21 Selflessness Day

"8 Days of Greatness" is sponsored by the family of Brogan Dulle and will provide an opportunity for people to participate in a movement to spread greatness by giving something of themselves daily for 8 days. Its origins are from May of 2014, when our community came together to search for Brogan.  Its mission is to get people to make the world a better place and, through this, making ourselves better people.

Each day of the event, people are asked to share their photos, stories and acts of greatness with others via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram (using #gr8nesstbd), and e-mail (

) so that the world can see how greatness is spread.  More information can be found at

University of Cincinnati President Santa Ono has agreed to sponsor Selflessness Day (Day 4) on Thursday, May 21, which is one of the 8 Days of Greatness.

President Ono has made arrangements with Gilpin’s Steamed Grub (Clifton) to randomly to pay for individual food purchases on Selflessness Day (May 21).  Anyone can do the same by anonymously paying for the food of someone else in line or at the drive-thru.  This example and others will be appreciated and will provide a small example of what it means to be selfless.

This is just one way to be selfless on Thursday, May 21. Other ideas include:

  • Visiting someone who lives alone or in a retirement home
  • Offering to babysit for a busy parent
  • Hugging your loved ones
  • Reading to a child
  • Picking up litter in your neighborhood or on a littered street

Come up with your own ideas, snap a picture, and tell others what you did on social media sites using #gr8nesstbd or send to the following e-mail address

(info@8daysofgreatness.org)

.

Be great and make it a great day for someone else.
